Txt 4 Success Workshop at the NCCEP Conference

This week, IMG_0551_1Signal Vine sponsored our first “Txt 4 Success” workshop at the Annual NCCEP conference in San Francisco, welcoming a packed room of 45+ attendees wanting to learn how to incorporate interactive text messaging into their GEAR UP programs. The session was hosted by Dr. Adam Green and Jessica Kennedy with the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, and we joined Alex Chewning from uAspire to provide additional content and perspective.The attendees were fantastic with a ton of great questions and interaction. We set up a mini program on our texting platform so that attendees could receive information about the workshop and ask questions during the presentation - it worked like a charm and was nice to show the system in action.

Much of the discussion at the workshop focused on state texting and summer melt research. For the state model, Jessica provided a blueprint for how other states could scale up their texting program to have results as fantastic as West Virginia’s. She also shared sample program messages and a packed folder of supporting research and content. For the summer melt research, Alex went into depth on uAspire’s experience supporting the research that generated statistically significant results for texting interventions


Overall, the workshop was a huge success. There’s so much enthusiasm and momentum for texting in GEAR UP programs, and the Txt 4 Success workshop really gave us an opportunity to dig into the details of it. NCCEP put on another successful event and San Francisco was the most gracious host city. We’re looking forward to the 2016 NCCEP events and a full conference schedule this fall!
