The Signal Vine team is headed west - the midwest, that is! Conference season is upon us, kicking off with two of our favorite conferences. We can't wait to learn about new developments in the education world and share a couple of exciting texting updates ourselves.
It is officially conference season and we are so excited to be attending the NCCEP Capacity Building Workshop in New Orleans next week! Check out our map below to see how many College Access Organizations are using Signal Vine. If you'll be at NCCEP next week, stop by our exhibitor table (#16) to learn more. Hope to see you there!
At Signal Vine, we love to talk about text. We’ve found that the best way to reach organizations and talk about the power of texting is to meet them where they’re at - education conferences! The past few months have been a whirlwind of traveling, presenting, and meeting awesome organizations around the country who want to better engage students with texting.
The #TextMeBack Tour led us to so many different areas of the education field, which goes to show just how flexible and impactful texting can be with all kinds of student behaviors and outcomes. Here’s a sneak peek into our experience traveling the country to learn about the latest trends in education:
This week, Signal Vine sponsored our first “Txt 4 Success” workshop at the Annual NCCEP conference in San Francisco, welcoming a packed room of 45+ attendees wanting to learn how to incorporate interactive text messaging into their GEAR UP programs. The session was hosted by Dr. Adam Green and Jessica Kennedy with the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, and we joined Alex Chewning from uAspire to provide additional content and perspective.
Last year, the Signal Vine Team joined GEAR UP programs around the country at the Annual National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) Conference in Washington D.C. We had the opportunity to present with Dr. Castleman on his Summer Melt research, and share our experiences using text messaging to guide low-income students through the college-going process. This intervention improved matriculation rates by 11% and first-year persistence rates by 20%.
Welcome to TextMeBack, the place where our "Signal Squad" will be sharing everything and anything we think you'll be interested in hearing. There's more than enough information and pictures on our site to give you a sense of who we are, but let me share a little bit more about the Signal Vine community that you might not know (unless you've been working with us for a while).
